He said that China can once again be engulfed in the lap of Corona.
According to a Bloomberg report, the government is emphasizing on increasing vaccine storage to overcome the Omicron variant of the corona virus. The XBB variant of the corona virus has been spreading across the country since the end of April in China. By the end of May, 40 million cases can be reported in China every week. At the same time, by the end of June, this amount can reach up to 6.5 crores.
Nanshan has told in his estimate that once again a new wave of corona virus can be seen in China. He said that the immunity of the people of China is decreasing. Due to which 1.4 billion people are once again at risk of Covid. After protests, the Chinese government had decided to withdraw its zero covid policy last year.
China stopped updating data
It is difficult to estimate how many cases are coming to the fore in China. Because keeping in mind the need for people to live with the virus, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention has stopped updating the Corona figures since the beginning of this month.
According to media reports, in the previous wave of Corona in China, about 3.7 crore cases were reported every day across the country. Most of the cases were of the sub-variant of Omicron. Because of which the patients were not getting beds in the hospitals. There was a crisis of medicines like fever in the country.
Emphasis on preparing vaccines
In view of the crisis of Corona, Chinese officials are also preparing to introduce new vaccines. These vaccines will be prepared with the XBB variant of the corona virus. According to Zhong, two vaccines have already been given preliminary approval and another three or four will be approved soon.
