British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak sacked his Interior Minister Suella Braverman during a massive cabinet reshuffle. A controversial statement is said to be the reason behind his dismissal. In fact, Palestinian supporters had taken to the streets of London. Their march was going till Parliament. Meanwhile, supporters of Israel also came forward and clashes broke out between the two groups. The police took action and Indian origin minister Braverman raised questions on this action. He said that the police were acting like Palestinian supporters. This statement of Braverman was heavily criticized.
Sunak was under increasing pressure from opposition MPs and members of his own ruling Conservative Party to dismiss Braverman. The Indian-origin cabinet member has often made headlines for her comments on migrants, protesters, police and homelessness. Braverman says that serving as Home Secretary has been the greatest privilege of his life. He will have much more to say in the times to come.

He says Palestinians similarly broke the law, but were largely ignored. In this regard, he has spoken to serving and former police officers who have seen this double attitude.
The minister also said that the organizers of the protests “have links to terrorist groups including Hamas”. Braverman described the protesters as marching to spread hatred. At the same time, more than 140 people were arrested in the clashes that took place during the demonstration.
The opposition Labor Party alleged that the clashes were sparked by Braverman’s comments. Members of the Conservative Party also criticized him and expressed disappointment at Sunak’s delay in firing the minister.
