No one will be able to forget what Pakistani army did to the people in 1971. All the boundaries of atrocities were broken. Women, children, elders no one was spared. Screams and cries everywhere. There was such a fear of Pak soldiers that people used to remain imprisoned inside the houses. Then India attacked and broke Pakistan into two parts. East Pakistan was renamed Bangladesh. Human rights activist and former Dutch MP Harry van Bommel says that the 1971 genocide in Bangladesh will be given global recognition.
Talking to journalists in Dhaka, the former Dutch MP also talked about the genocide of Armenia. He said that it took 100 years for that genocide to be recognized. But this will not happen with Bangladesh. Very soon it will get global recognition. Bommel says that the entire process will be done within a few years. International conference was held in Bangladesh a day before. Speaking in this, he said that the Cold War, the then global superpower America was supporting Pakistan. For this reason, even after 51 years of Bangladesh’s independence, the genocide could not be recognized globally.
America helped Pakistan
He said that in 1971 America stood to help Pakistan. America had provided weapons to the Pakistani army. While Russia came forward to support India. This is the reason why America is pretending not to know about the Bangladeshi genocide. He said that America knows very well what happened here in 1971, but with what mouth can it say that it was wrong. Because he helped the Pak Army. America’s weapons took the lives of millions of people.

March 25, 1971 was the day. Pakistan Army had made a plan to kill on a large scale. The Pakistan Army named it Operation Searchlight. Its purpose was to kill actors, intellectuals, social workers, human rights workers, journalists, politicians. The army did not spare anyone. The killing went on. Everyone was killed one by one. The army killed lakhs of people in the Hindu dominated areas in and around the capital Dhaka. Bangladesh has repeatedly urged the United Nations to recognize the global genocide. But the UN never listened.
