This case is related to Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s home in Florida. About 13,000 documents were seized from his house last year. The 37 criminal charges against Trump include many cases like illegally keeping top secret files of America’s nuclear and defense programs in his home, obstructing the law.

In this indictment, Trump has been accused of taking many secret documents from the White House to his home. Those documents which included many confidential information like Pentagon’s ‘Plan of Attack’, military operation.

The US Justice Department said that when Donald Trump left the White House in January 2021, he took with him many top classified documents from the Pentagon, CIA, National Security Agency and many other international institutions. He kept these files at his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago.

20 years imprisonment in each case
It has been said in the indictment that the disclosure of these classified documents can endanger the national security of America. Jack Smith, Special Counsel of the Justice Department, said that there is a provision of 20 years of punishment in each of these cases.
