Book release.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (Monday) released the Tok Pisin translation of the Thirukkural book during his visit to Papua New Guinea. Tok Pisin is one of the local and official languages of Papua New Guinea. PM Modi tweeted after releasing the book that Prime Minister James Marape and I had the honor of releasing the Tirukkural book in Tok Pisin language in Papua New Guinea.
PM Modi wrote that I appreciate the Governor of West New Britain Province and Subha Saseendran for her effort to translate Thirukkural into Tok Pisin. Governor Saseendran did his schooling in Tamil while Subha Saseendran is a respected linguist.
