Strategic partnership between the two countries
It has been said in this letter that, therefore, we respectfully request that in addition to the many areas of common interest between India and America, you also take up the issues of concern directly with Prime Minister Modi. Describing India as an important member of the Quad, a group of four countries, and an important partner for stability in the Indo-Pacific region, the letter said that the US lawmakers support a deepening strategic partnership between the two countries.

Mention of report on human rights
The letter cited news reports about growing religious intolerance in India, targeting of citizens, organizations and journalists, as well as increased restrictions on media freedom and the Internet, and the State Department’s country of 2022 on human rights in India. Demand to raise these issues in front of PM Modi
