British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday dismissed controversial Interior Minister Suella Braverman. Sunak has reshuffled his cabinet before next year’s general elections. There was resentment in the country regarding Interior Minister Braverman. He is a right wing leader. Braverman last week criticized police for their handling of pro-Palestine protests. He has taken a strong stand regarding the pro-Palestine demonstrations, which were constantly being opposed.
After being dropped from the cabinet, it is not yet clear who will be made the minister in place of Braverman. A year ago, after becoming Prime Minister, Sunak made him the Interior Minister. She is considered a controversial leader in Britain. She holds right-wing views and believes in isolating Britain. For example, his policies regarding refugees have been criticized.
Police was criticized on pro-Palestine march
After his dismissal, Braverman said, “Serving as Secretary of the Interior has been the greatest privilege of my life.” She has also said that she may make some revelations in the coming days. Braverman criticized the British police for their handling of pro-Palestine protests. He had accused the police of playing a ‘favourite role’. It was also claimed that the police largely ignored the “pro-Palestinian crowd”. He also wrote an article, without Sunak’s approval, criticizing Saturday’s pro-Palestine march. Three lakh people had gathered in this march. He had made a big protest in London.
