Sudan Conflict: affected by war Sudan Ceasefire has been announced for seven days from tomorrow. The ceasefire will last from 22 May to 29 May. There were fierce airstrikes in the capital Khartoum on Saturday. Firing took place. The Sudanese Armed Forces ransacked the Qatar Embassy. There has been a war going on between the army and paramilitary forces in Sudan for the past several days.
Both are fighting for the possession of power. So far more than 400 people have been killed in this fight, thousands have been injured while lakhs of people have been displaced. Even before this, a seven-day ceasefire was announced in Sudan. During this, people from other countries stranded in the country were brought out. After the Khartoon attack on Saturday, the US and Saudi Arabia held talks in Jeddah regarding the ceasefire.

7 days ceasefire from 22 May
After this, both the countries issued a joint statement saying that after the consent of both the sides, there will be a ceasefire in Sudan for the next seven days from May 22. The statement said that the ceasefire will be effective for seven days. Both the parties have made an agreement regarding this. The Saudi Foreign Ministry said that the declared ceasefire has been violated several times since the violence started five weeks ago.
Violence broke out on 15 April
Violence erupted between the army and paramilitary forces in Sudan on 15 April. The power struggle between the country’s regular army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and his former deputy-turned-rival, Mohammed Hamdan Dagallo, who heads the paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF), had turned into a fight. After this, Sudan was shaken by airstrikes.

The United Nations has warned of a worsening humanitarian situation.
