Even after four years of the Pulwama attack, there is no scope for improvement in the situation between India and Pakistan. There was discussion in Pakistan that the Government of Pakistan is negotiating with India behind the scenes. In response to a question asked on this, Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that there is no dialogue between India and Pakistan behind the scenes. In a press conference, he said that at this stage, no talks are happening between Pakistan and India behind the scenes.
India has been consistently saying that it wants normal neighborly relations with Pakistan, but for such relations, Islamabad must first create an environment free of terrorism and unrest. In February 2019, after the Pulwama terrorist attack, Indian Air Force aircraft dropped bombs on the training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot, after which the relations between the two countries became more tense. Baloch also alleged that India’s Kishanganga and Ratle hydroelectric projects are in violation of the Indus Water Treaty signed between the two countries.

India will come forward to help Pakistan
The economic situation in Pakistan has become worse and the citizens of Pakistan expect India to help them. In this regard, former RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) chairman Amarjit Singh Dulat had said that any time is right for talks with Pakistan. We have to keep our neighbor engaged. He had hoped that PM Modi should help Pakistan in its economic crisis. He also said that he has not received any intelligence regarding this, but he feels that India will come forward to help Pakistan.
Being a neighbor India should help Pakistan
India’s relations with Pakistan affect domestic international politics. Meanwhile, while Pakistan and India are at loggerheads, China is completely at ease with it. For example, China, which has been India’s historical enemy, is creating problems for India by keeping Pakistan in its fold. Many Chinese projects are going on in Pakistan and not only this, other neighboring countries of India are also trying to help China. If India helps Pakistan in this economic crisis, then it can prove to be better for domestic politics.
