New Delhi: In America, an 81-year-old man was trapped in a snow storm for 7 days, but he did not give up and came out safely from the mouth of death. During this, Burjug kept himself alive by eating candies and croissants. In fact, 81-year-old Jerry Jouret, a 81-year-old man living in California, got caught in a snow storm on the highway due to driving in bad weather. The incident took place on February 24, when he left his home in Big Pine, California for Gardnerville, Nevada to meet his family. In normal weather, this distance is covered in 3 hours.
According to a CNN report, after about 30 minutes of driving, the mathematician and former NASA employee lost control of his car and got stuck in a blizzard in a narrow lane. After this he had to spend the night in the car before any kind of assistance. After this, the temperature dropped significantly in the night and they did not have special clothes to keep the body warm. He had a lightweight windbreaker and a hotel bath towel.

According to his grandson Christian, his grandfather Jouret stayed in the car and kept heating the SUV using minimal gas and battery power. He survived only by eating some snacks he had taken with him. During this, he sometimes used to roll down the window of the car to eat snow. Jouret’s car’s battery died on the third day when he was closing the electric windows. Because of this, the window remained open a few inches for the next 4 days.
Burjug’s rescue happened on the 7th day
Four days after leaving Jouret’s home, the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a missing person. In fact, search and response teams were unable to begin rescue operations until the bad weather subsided. Six days after Jouret’s attempt to return home, officers received a message from his mobile, which enabled them to focus their search, and he was eventually located.

Jouret was buried in three feet of snow
The California Highway Patrol aircraft found his car buried in about three feet of snow. Meanwhile, he was rescued from there and taken to the hospital. Even after being in the hospital for a few hours, Jerry did not show any signs of hypothermia. His grandson told CNN that the nurses were amazed at how good his vitals were. Although Mr. Jerry is making a full recovery, the experience left him in complete awe.
