India welcomed the international community’s efforts to bring about a humanitarian pause in the Israel-Hamas war, de-escalate tensions and provide immediate humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine. India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj, said in an informal meeting of the UN General Assembly Plenary Session on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip that the message of the Indian leadership has been clear and logical.
Kamboj said India welcomes all steps by the international community that seek to de-escalate the conflict and enable immediate delivery of humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine.

He said that we strongly oppose all forms of terrorism. We are clearly against violence. We call for international humanitarian law to be followed, for further escalation to be prevented, for humanitarian aid to continue to flow, for the unconditional release of all hostages, and for all parties to work towards an early restoration of peace and stability. . Kamboj said that in this direction we also welcome efforts for a humanitarian pause in the war.
