The Union Health Ministry said on Friday that Maharashtra had the highest number of 88 cases of ‘Omicron’ nature, 67 in Delhi, 38 in Telangana, 34 in Tamil Nadu, 31 in Karnataka and 30 in Gujarat.
According to the updated data released by the ministry at eight in the morning, the daily cases of COVID-19 in the country are less than 15 thousand for 57 consecutive days.
The number of patients under treatment has come down to 77,516, which is 0.22 percent of the total cases of infection. This rate is the lowest since March 2020.
In the last 24 hours, there has been a decrease of 775 in the number of patients under treatment for COVID-19. The national recovery rate of patients is 98.40 percent, which is the highest since March 2020.
According to ministry data, the daily infection rate was recorded at 0.57 percent, which is less than two percent for the last 81 days. The weekly infection rate was recorded at 0.59 percent, which is less than one percent for the last 40 days.
So far, a total of 3,42,15,977 people have become infection free in the country and the death rate from COVID-19 is 1.38 percent.
Under the nationwide vaccination campaign, more than 140.31 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines have been given so far.
According to the data of the ministry, out of 374 cases of death due to infection in the country in the last 24 hours, 323 were from Kerala and 17 from Maharashtra.
The Kerala government said in a statement on Friday that out of 323 cases of death reported in the state, 54 cases were reported in the last few days. At the same time, 269 cases of death have been added to the cases of death from COVID-19 based on the new guidelines of the Center and the Supreme Court.
According to the data, a total of 4,79,133 people have died due to infection in the country so far, out of which 1,41,392 people from Maharashtra, 45,861 people from Kerala, 38,301 people from Karnataka, 36,707 people from Tamil Nadu, 25,103 people from Delhi, North There were 22,915 people from the state and 19,702 people from West Bengal.
The Health Ministry said that out of those who have died due to corona virus infection so far, more than 70 percent of the patients also had other diseases.
According to the data, there were one lakh cases of COVID-19 in the country in 110 days and in 59 days they had crossed 10 lakhs.
It took 21 days for the total number of cases of COVID-19 infection in India to reach from 10 lakh to 20 lakh (as on 7 August 2020), while it took 16 more days to reach the number of 20 to 30 lakh (23 August 2020) . May is the deadliest month ever
