The number of people recovering from this disease has increased to 4,24,13,566 and the death rate was recorded at 1.20 percent. So far, more than 179.33 crore doses have been given under the nationwide anti-COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

According to the ministry, out of 145 patients who lost their lives in the last 24 hours in the country, 111 died in Kerala, nine died in Uttar Pradesh and eight died in Karnataka.

Daily new cases were below three lakh from May 17 to May 24, 2021 and then below two lakh from May 25 to May 31, 2021. The maximum number of 3,745,237 patients were treated in the country on 10 May 2021.
