The neighboring country China will encourage the youth of the country to marry and have children. For this, a campaign named ‘New Era’ will be started as a pilot project in 20 cities of the country. Through this, the youth of the country will be encouraged to get married and have children so that the falling birth rate can be increased.
Chinese government media Global Times told on Monday that this pilot project will be started by the China Family Planning Association. It is a national body that implements the population and reproduction measures of the government.

According to the report, during the campaign, promoting marriage among the youth and giving birth to children at the appropriate age and the responsibilities of their upbringing will be told. Along with this, steps will be taken to curb the old customs of the country. Especially people will be made aware to end things like dowry system.
Pilot project will start in Guangzhou and Handan city
The 20 cities in China where this pilot project will be launched include the manufacturing hub of Guangzhou and Handan city of Hebei province of China. Last year, this project was started in 20 cities including Beijing. The report quoted an expert as saying that there is a need for more guidance to the youth regarding the concept of marriage and giving birth to children.

Significantly, to control the population, one child policy was implemented in the neighboring country from 1980 to 2015. During this time Chinese people were allowed to have only one child. When China realized this, it abolished this policy in 2016 and implemented a two-child policy. In which two children are allowed to be born.
China’s population decline drastically
In the last few years, there has been a huge decline in the youth population of China. The age of the current population of the country is increasing day by day, while due to the decline in the birth rate, a sufficient number of new generations are not coming forward. For this reason, there has been a rapid decline in the number of people working in many sectors.
