He told that in the year 2017, the visa validity period of Chinese journalists was reduced. He said that our journalists were discriminated against in India for a long time. In 2017, the visa validity was reduced without any reason. Also, since the year 2020, the applications of Chinese journalists have also been refused to be approved.
Mao Ning said that because of this the number of Chinese journalists stationed in India went on decreasing. Now the situation is such that out of 14 only one number of journalists is left. Not only this, India has not yet renewed the visa of that last Chinese journalist. He said that if the situation remains the same, China will also retaliate to protect the rights of its media groups. He said that China wants to maintain communication system with India.
According to media reports, Mao Ning said that we provide all necessary help and facilities to Indian journalists in China. We treat them like family. He said that some journalists of India have been working and living here for more than 10 years.
