Imran Khan
There is a ruckus in Pakistan. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s difficulties are increasing continuously. After his arrest on May 9, the volcano of ruckus erupted, after which it has been burning continuously. A case has been registered against Khan under the Military Act and the Official Secrets Act. However, the Islamabad High Court extended Imran Khan’s bail till June 8 in two cases related to inciting violence and treason. At the same time, the Lahore High Court reserved its decision on Khan’s petition seeking bail in all cases registered against him in Punjab province after his arrest in the Al Qadir Trust case last week.
In the cases in which the army will run the case against the former PM of Pakistan, life imprisonment or death sentence is fixed. Whoever is found guilty under Section-59 of the Military Act in Pakistan has to be ready to face the death penalty. At the same time, under Section-3 of the Official Secrets Act, 14 years of punishment is given. Actually, former President of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was arrested under Martial Law Regulation 12, after which he was hanged.
Nawaz Sharif also fled the country
Nawaz Sharif, brother of current Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, was found guilty of corruption. He started fearing that he would be put in jail, after which he searched for a safe place and left the country and fled to Britain. He has been living there for the last four years. After the coup of power in the country, speculations were being made that he would return to Pakistan, but this could not happen.
It was also announced to hang former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf. Actually, he had ousted Nawaz Sharif from power by a coup while army chief and had imposed martial law all over Pakistan. He was convicted of treason by the Supreme Court. The trial of the case took place for about 6 years. The government had put him on the no-fly list because it feared that Musharraf would flee the country. However, in the year 2016, he got permission to go abroad for treatment, after which he never returned to Pakistan.
Imran Khan has the option of leaving the country
If the army tightens the screws on Imran Khan, then he has very few options to escape. One thing is clear that if he is found guilty then he can be hanged to life imprisonment. If he wants to save himself, then there is no other option but to run away from the country. Right now the situation in the country is from bad to worse. Khan’s supporters have even set the houses of army officers on fire. At the same time, Imran himself had been targeting the army for a long time. He was only looking for an opportunity, which has been given by the PTI workers of Imran himself.
