US President Joe Biden attacked Donald Trump for questioning the husband of his Republican rival Nikki Haley. Coming to the defense of the former South Carolina governor, President Joe Biden said in a post on Twitter that Major Haley is currently abroad and serving his country.
Campaigning in South Carolina, the home turf of the Indian-American Republican presidential candidate, Trump on Saturday had asked what happened to Haley’s husband, where is he? In response, Haley lashed out at her former boss and asked him to engage in a direct debate and if he has anything to say, tell me.
Addressing a campaign program on Sunday, he said that Michael is deployed in the service of our country, about which you know nothing. Donald, if you have something to say, don’t say it behind my back. Come to the debate stage and say it in front of me.
He urged his supporters to elect a President who supports our troops and understands the sacrifices of our military families. Haley said that participating in this election has never been more important. This is a battle for the soul of our country.
Haley is Trump’s last rival for the Republican presidential nomination. Both of them have held events in South Carolina over the past few days, during which they attacked each other ahead of the February 24 Republican primary.
