Want to reduce dependence on China
The official name of Foxconn is Hon Hai Precision Industry. The company is the principal assembler of the Apple iPhone. Both Apple and Foxconn have long wanted to reduce the dependence of their business on China, as most of Foxconn’s manufacturing is currently done in China.
During the Corona period, the production of the company was greatly affected due to the COVID policies of China. Since then both the companies are working on a plan to diversify their manufacturing out of China. Apart from this, China’s relations with America and Taiwan also remain strained.
