Cyber criminals have also made job search a new tactic of fraud. Recently a person found it difficult to search for a job online. He lost Rs 6.4 lakh after falling into the trap of cyber criminals.
According to reports, Naveen Gupta from Chandigarh uploaded his resume on many job search portals. He got a call from a person that he was talking to a national media group. He offered Naveen a job. The person talking asked Naveen for an interview. Apart from this, a fee of Rs 6,500 was asked for scheduling the interview.
Naveen found this call to be genuine, and he transferred the money. After this, money was demanded from him in the name of compulsory course, document verification, medical test and IT training. He was also given a fake appointment letter. After giving more than Rs 6.4 lakh, Naveen realized that he cyber fraud happened.

After this he went to the cyber crime police station and registered a case. Part-time jobs and online jobs etc. have become new methods of fraud for cyber criminals. There is a need to be very careful while searching for jobs online. A small mistake of yours can cause big loss.
Way to avoid job fraud
If you also want to avoid this type of fraud, then you have to keep some things in mind.
- First of all, keep in mind that find jobs only by visiting authentic job portals LinkedIn, Naukri.com, Indeed etc.
- If you apply for a job on any other platform, then definitely check the genuineness of the person you are talking to.
- Get information like his name, company name. At the same time, help of Google search can also be taken.
- Be careful while giving personal information like your name, phone number etc. Always check that such details are entered only on trusted websites.
Don’t do this even by mistake
The most important thing is to never transfer money to any stranger’s account. If someone is asking you for money in the name of fees or charges, then be alert. These could be early signs of fraud. Therefore, do not share your banking details with anyone. Real job companies do not take money in exchange for providing jobs.
