Recently, information came to light through media reports that the Government of India is preparing to clamp down on handset manufacturing companies. It was being said in the report that the government is planning to screen the updates and give an option to the customers to remove the pre-installed apps already coming in the new phone. Explain that on this claim made in the media reports, the Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar has been told wrong.
Rejecting this claim made in media reports, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that no such testing is going on. For the information of people, let us tell you that Rajiv Chandrasekhar has shared this information with everyone through his official Twitter account on the microblogging platform Twitter.

In a tweet, the Union Minister wrote that the claim made in the media report that surfaced is completely false, crackdown or any security testing is not being done. Along with this, he told that this report is based on lack of understanding and creative imagination, it has also been mentioned in the tweet that the report is against the mobile security guidelines. BIS Standard IS17737 (Part-3) for 2021 is based on the ongoing consultation process between the Ministry and the companies.
