Chat GPT Nowadays it is one of the biggest topics in the tech industry. However, now its popularity is being misused. Cybercriminals are using this ChatBot to spread malware. Overall, users’ data is now in danger.
According to a recent report, a new scam is going on regarding ChatGPT. Due to this, about 5 lakh users are in danger. In this scam, people are being targeted through Facebook and malware is being sent to their devices.
What is ChatGPT Scam?
Some fake ChatGPT pages are being shared on Facebook and through these malware is being sent to the user’s system. In most cases, scammers have created a Facebook account or page that looks like the original ChatGPT page. For this, the logo of ChatGPT and username like ChatGPT OpenAI are being used on the fake page. Some such links are being shared on these accounts and Facebook pages, in which the latest versions like ChatGPT and GPT4 have been claimed to be available.
In fact, users are being cheated under the guise of these links. As users click on this link and download the software, malware will be installed on their devices. These viruses can become a big threat to the privacy and security of the users.
According to the report, 13 fake Facebook accounts/pages spreading malware have been detected so far, a total of 5 lakh users are following them.
How To Avoid ChatGPT Scam
If you are going to download any software from an unknown source, then check thousand times before doing so. Do not click on suspicious and unverified links. Apart from this, do not download files from such sources whose URLs use only http instead of https.
