Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government started digital strike on Chinese apps from 2020 after realizing the nefarious intentions of China. The government’s digital strike against Chinese apps started in 2020 continues in 2023 as well.
How many times has ‘strike’ happened on Chinese apps since 2020?
Remind that after cracking down on 58 apps in June 2020, 118 Chinese apps were banned in India in September 2020. The process of banning Chinese apps did not stop here and in November 2020, orders were given to block 43 Chinese apps.
After 2020, again in 2022, taking action against Chinese apps, the government had banned 54 Chinese apps in February. After 2022, now in 2023 also the process of dusting off Chinese apps is going on.
The government had banned 232 Chinese apps in February 2023, let us tell you that in this list, 138 apps were related to betting, while 94 loan apps are included.
Looking at this data, it is known that during the second term of the Modi government, from 2020 till now i.e. till May 2023, there has been a digital strike on more than 500 apps.
Why is the ban on the apps?
Behind the ban on Chinese apps, the government had said that these apps are not only a threat to national security, but these apps have also been caught playing with the privacy of the users. The reason behind the government banning the apps was also revealed that these Chinese apps collect personal data of the users and send it to the servers of other countries.
