Jaiswal’s name was on the award, but it went to Chennai star Shivam Dubey. Dubey received Jaiswal’s award. Actually Jaiswal is in England with the Indian squad for the World Test Championship final. He had left for England with Indian captain Rohit Sharma in the past. In such a situation, Dubey took this award on his behalf. Jaiswal scored a total of 625 runs in 14 matches in IPL 2023 including 1 century and 5 fifties. During this, his strike rate was 163.61.

Who is given this award
The Emerging Player Award is given to a young player who has performed brilliantly in the tournament, whose age is less than 25 years, i.e. born after 1 April 1997. Have played 25 or less IPL matches. Who has not played more than 5 Tests or 20 ODIs. On the other hand, that player should not have won the Emerging Player award earlier. The player who wins this award is given Rs 10 lakh.
