WWE News: Seth Rollins was planning to defend the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38
In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that the original plan was for Seth Rollins to defend the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38. But a change of plans on WWE Day 1 resulted in Rollins being dropped as the champion at WrestleMania 38.
On the other hand, despite Brock winning the WWE Title, the story between Rance and Brock continues and WWE is pushing for a champion vs champion match at WrestleMania 38.

WWE News: What’s next for Seth Rollins?
After the WWE Championship opportunity is over, Rollins is now set to face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble PPV event. Rollins was selected last week by Adam Pearce to challenge Roman Reigns on Friday Night SmackDown.
These two former friends have a 4-4 one-on-one record against each other and both have also drawn a match via double count-out. But if WWE is planning a champion vs champion match for WrestleMania 38, we could see Roman Reigns retaining his title at the Royal Rumble PPV.
