After this, emphasis was also laid on slip fielding, which is the most challenging task in terms of fielding in England. When catches are taken with the edge of the bat in front of swinging balls, due to swing many times the slip fielders are not able to judge the catch properly and the ball drops.

The title was slipped in 2021
However, due to the flop show of the Indian team’s batting against New Zealand in the 2021 final, the title slipped out of hand. Still, whatever little hope was left, it was destroyed by Cheteshwar Pujara’s mistake. Pujara dropped the catch of England batsman Ross Taylor in the slip itself. At that time New Zealand needed only 55 runs. That catch could have put some pressure on New Zealand, but then that opportunity was lost.
