Mumbai: The league stage of the first season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is nearing its end. Even before this, however, the teams going to the playoffs have been decided. Two matches were played in this league on Monday and after these matches the picture became clear that which teams are going to the playoffs. There are a total of five teams in the league, out of which three teams will play in the playoffs. The team that finishes the league stage at number one will directly play the WPL final while the second and third placed teams will play an eliminator match and the winner will go to the final. In the first match held on Monday, Gujarat Giants faced the team of UP Warriors, in which the UP team won by three wickets. With this victory, the UP team qualified for the playoffs. After this Mumbai Indians faced Delhi Capitals in which Delhi won by nine wickets.

Such is the position of the points table
After these two matches there has been a change in the points table. The UP team was at number three before the match against Gujarat and is still at number three after this victory, but has qualified for the playoffs. He has eight points after four wins and three losses in seven matches. Delhi has snatched the first position from Mumbai by defeating it. Delhi has 10 points after five wins and two losses in seven matches. Same is the situation in Mumbai. He has played seven matches and has won five while he has lost two. He also has 10 points, but Delhi’s net run rate is better than Mumbai and that is why he is at number-1. Delhi’s net run rate is +1.978 while Mumbai’s is +1.725.
The team of Royal Challengers Bangalore is out of the playoff race. This team is currently at number four. Smriti Mandhana’s team has won only two out of seven matches while it has lost in five. The team of Gujarat Giants has played eight matches, out of which two have won their share while they have lost in six. This team is at number five at the bottom of the points table with four points. RCB also has four points but its net run rate is better than Gujarat.

Topper will be decided after two matches
Tuesday is the last day of the league stage and two matches are to be played on this day. RCB and Mumbai will have a match on Tuesday which will be the first match of the day. After this, the UP team will face the Delhi team. After these two matches, it will be decided that which team will be on the number one position in the points table and will play the final directly. For this there is a tough competition in both Delhi and Mumbai.
