New Delhi: It is the dream of every cricketer to become the world champion. For this, the player gives his life. He does not leave any such opportunity on the field which breaks his team’s dream of becoming world champion. Whenever the player gets a chance, he wants to make the team win by putting his everything. But there has been one player who became world champion without playing an international match. The name of this player is Sunil Valson. Valson was part of the Indian team that won the World Cup in 1983. Under the captaincy of Kapil Dev, India won this title on this day i.e. 25 June.
Valson was with the team throughout the tournament but did not play in a single match. Leave it in this World Cup, he could never play an international match, but being a member of the 1983 World Cup team, he is called the World Champion. Born in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Walson played for Delhi and Railways in domestic cricket. Valson played 75 first class matches in his career and took 212 wickets. At the same time, this left-arm fast bowler played 22 matches in List-A and took 23 wickets.

miss debut
An opportunity came that Walson was about to make his international debut but could not do it because of Roger Binny. Walson himself told this in an interview. In an interview given to the news agency PTI in May 2019, Valson had told that he was about to make his international debut in the World Cup itself but could not do it. In fact, Binny suffered a leg injury before the round robin match against West Indies. Then Kapil Dev told Valson that if Binny is not fit then he can get a chance.

Walson did not have an international match in his luck. Binny proved his fitness before the match and he played the match. Walson had to remain disappointed. But he does not regret it. He says that the World Cup was won by a team of 14 people and he was a part of that team.

Received 12 days ago
Valson got a place in the World Cup team just 12 days ago. Walson told in the same interview that he was playing in the Durham West Coast League at that time when the official of that club informed him that he had been selected in the World Cup squad. However, he did not believe it and That’s why he confirmed this thing by calling Kirti Azad.
