New Delhi: ODI World Cup is to be organized in India in October-November this year. Although the ICC has not yet officially announced the dates of this World Cup, but this World Cup can start from October 5 and its final can be played on November 19. BCCI has also selected some venues for this. Its final match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The website ESPNcricinfo has given this information in its report.
Apart from Ahmedabad, matches of this World Cup can be played in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot and Mumbai. A total of 48 matches will be played in this tournament which includes three knockout matches and this tournament will run for 46 days.
not decided on these matters
So far, the BCCI has only decided where the final match will be played but has not decided on when and which team’s matches will be held on the selected grounds. There is a delay in this matter due to the monsoon season. Normally ICC announces the schedule a year before the World Cup, but this time it waited for BCCI to get permission from the Indian government. Two important things were involved in this – tax exemption for the tournament and clearance regarding the visa of Pakistani players.
The ICC meeting was held in Dubai last week in which the BCCI assured the ICC that Pakistani players would not face any problem in getting visas from the Indian government. On the other hand, BCCI will soon give information to ICC on the issue of tax.
