Flatter pitch than last 3 Tests
Smith, however, is hopeful that the scorching heat will ensure that the pitch cracks as the match progresses, providing turn. Smith said in the press conference before the fourth and final Test match, out of the four wickets we have seen so far, this probably seems to be the flattest wicket for the first day. Right now the temperature here is 38 degree Celsius. It is very hot here. It seems that the pitch will dry up as the match progresses. A ground worker said that he can pour water on it again today.
Big scores to be made in Ahmedabad?
The Australian captain said on the expectation of a big score on this pitch, we will have to wait now but the pitch looks like a day before the match, it is definitely not the same as we have seen the pitch on the first day so far. We have to play according to the conditions we get. Certainly big scores have not been made in this series yet. India scored 400 runs in the first test match and Rohit scored a century. Then the score of 400 proved to be huge.
The Australian captain said, this wicket can be slightly different. Here probably the spinners will not get help from the first ball or the first day itself but it will take spin as the game progresses. Therefore, yes there can be a chance to make a big score on this wicket.
