The Wankhede Stadium already holds a lot of significance for Indian fans. The World Cup final of the year 2011 was played in this stadium, in which MS Dhoni got the cup by hitting a six. Apart from this, India also won its last ICC Champions Trophy at this stadium in 2013.
This time also the stadium will host five matches in the World Cup. Earlier works have been done in the ground and auditorium at Wankhede. The Mumbai Cricket Association has recently given an update about the work done at the stadium. The outfield of the stadium has been completely prepared. At the same time, the hospitality box has been prepared. The renovation work of the stadium was started during IPL 2023 itself. Seven matches were held here during the IPL. The association started working here only after the league matches of IPL were over.
These five matches will be held in Wankhede
