Sachin Tendulkar did not do anything special with his bat in that match in the Eden Gardens ground, but his balls were in good shape on the last day of the match.

New Delhi: The four-match Test series between India and Australia has been completed. Team India retained its hold on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by winning the series 2-1 on its own land. This series win was considered to be largely certain because Team India is very strong at home. However, till 20 years back it was not that easy either. Especially against a team like Australia, it was very difficult, but on this very day, India got a historic victory and in that, Team India’s star batsman Sachin Tendulkar played a special role, but not with the bat but with the ball.
The matter is 22 years old, when the Australian team came on a tour of India. That Australian team, whose command was in the hands of Steve Waugh and which was winning all over the world. Just India was the last destination. The first stop of this destination was in Mumbai where Australia defeated India very easily. Then came the Kolkata Test, where within 5 days at the historic Eden Gardens, the game was surprisingly reversed.
Failed with the bat…
Australia had scored 445 runs in the first innings and then dismissed India for just 171 runs and forced them to follow on. After this, the stories and discussions of what Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman did have happened thousands of times. That historic partnership helped India win, but often the last day of that Test is mentioned. Especially the wonder of Sachin Tendulkar. No, Sachin did not do anything with the bat, but could only score 10-10 runs in both the innings, he did the game with the ball.

Work made from bowling…
In response to the target of 384 runs from India, Australia was struggling to save the match on the fifth day and 5 wickets fell, while the score was 167 runs. Indian captain Sourav Ganguly handed over the ball to Sachin Tendulkar and within the next 3 overs, the Australian team was completely on its knees. Sachin dismissed Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden and Shane Warne LBW in his 3 consecutive overs and on seeing Australia’s score was 174 for 8 wickets. Harbhajan Singh took the last two wickets to give India a memorable 171-run victory.
