There will be a reserve day for the Asia Cup 2023 Super-4 match between India and Pakistan to be played in Colombo on September 10. This decision has been taken in view of the rain washing out the India-Pakistan group match in the Asia Cup on September 2 and the forecast of heavy rain in Colombo on September 10.
A reserve day has also been kept for the final of Asia Cup 2023 to be played on 17 September.
There will be reserve day for Indo-Pak Super-4 match, ACC
The Asian Cricket Council has said, “On 10 September 2023, R. of Colombo. A reserve day has been included for the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match to be held at the Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. If the game is postponed due to bad weather, the India vs Pakistan match will start from where it was stopped on the next day i.e. 11th September 2023. In such a situation, ticket holders are advised to retain their match tickets which will remain valid for use on the Reserve Day.”
There is a 90 percent forecast of rain in Colombo on Sunday (September 10) and in view of this, ACC’s decision to keep a reserve day for the India-Pakistan match is considered right. ACC had initially decided to shift the Super-4 matches from Colombo to Hambantota due to bad weather, but later reversed the decision, which was criticized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
