Mumbai Cricket Stadium is going to auction both the seats of Wankhede Stadium on which Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s World Cup 2011 winning six had fallen. This six of Dhoni has left an indelible mark in the hearts of Indian cricket lovers. MCA will auction these seats in the ICC World Cup 2023, which is going to be hosted by India once again.
MCA gave this information through its Twitter handle. While tweeting, he has captioned Ravi Shastri’s comment as “Dhoni finishes off in style”. Also wrote that “To preserve the glory of this moment, those two seats of Wankhede Stadium, where the ball of the winning six hit by MS Dhoni in the World Cup 2011 had fallen, will be auctioned by MCA.”
Besides, MCA has also clarified that the money received from the auction will be used to encourage young players. The World Cup 2023 is going to start from October 5 to be hosted by India. Talking about Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, five matches are to be held here. Which also includes a semi-final match. The special thing is that once again the teams of India and Sri Lanka will play the World Cup match on this ground. India vs Sri Lanka match will be held at Wankhede on November 2. In the year 2011, the Indian team lifted the cup by defeating Sri Lanka in the final.
Apart from this, the first match here will be played between England and South Africa on 21st October. The second match will be played on 24th October, South Africa vs Bangladesh, the third match will be played on 2nd November, India vs Sri Lanka and the fourth match will be played on 7th November, Australia vs Afghanistan. After this, the first semi-final match is to be played here on 15th November.
