New Delhi: The Indian cricket team has been announced for the West Indies tour. The senior selection committee of the BCCI announced the team on Friday. The committee took many surprising decisions in this selection. The committee has thrown out Cheteshwar Pujara, the senior player of the Test team. People who have gone out of Pujara are angry and one of them is former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar.
Pujara got a chance in the playing-11 in the final of the ICC World Test Championship. However, even after playing the county for a long time, Pujara could not do well in the final played against Australia at The Oval in England. Pujara scored 14 runs in the first innings and 27 runs in the second innings.

‘No one to raise slogans’
Talking to Sports Tak, Gavaskar said that the exclusion of Pujara was a surprise for him. He said why Pujara was targeted. Taking a dig at the rest of the players, Gavaskar said that what wrong did Pujara do that the rest of the players did not do. He said that why only Pujara was sacrificed?

Gavaskar said that Pujara does not have the kind of people, he does not have that many followers who speak for him, raise slogans for him. The former captain said that if there is a criteria to be dropped from the team, then it should be for everyone and not for one. .

Youth should have got a chance
Gavaskar said that the selectors should have picked a team of young players for the West Indies tour and senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja should have been rested. He said that the ODI World Cup is to be held this year and all these players are playing cricket continuously. In such a situation, he should have been given rest so that he could be fresh.
