Hemlata played for Nepal
When probed, it was found that Anjani Tele of Nepal had played in the National Championship of India in 2021 where she had lost in the quarter finals. The International Boxing Association has also ordered an inquiry into the matter and has informed all the parties involved in the matter so that they can investigate at their own level.
Hemlata’s name is still registered with the Boxing Federation of India and she has been given the BX5029 registration number by the association. It is very possible that Hemlata has two passports and she has decided to surrender one passport and play for Nepal. Although this is also against the rules. According to the rules of IBA i.e. International Boxing Association, this cannot be done because Hemlata had participated in India’s national competition and state level matches a year ago.
