The history of cricket has been a witness that Pakistan’s defeat against India has never been digested. The same thing happened after the defeat in Melbourne on 23 October. India beat Pakistan by 4 wickets. But, instead of accepting it, he found the screw, about which India’s victory, the decisions of the umpire could be questioned. And, to do this, he sat down with the excuse of a no ball in the last over of the match. Big fans of Pakistan cricket have raised their voice about this no-ball and now a name of Shahid Afridi has also been added to it, who has directly questioned the umpiring.
While targeting the umpire, Shahid Afridi said, what is it, before telling him, just know and understand the whole story of no ball. Actually, this whole matter is related to the third ball of the last over of the Indian innings. Till this ball was bowled, the match was in the hands of Pakistan. But what happened after that, snatched victory from Pakistan and put it in India’s bag.
Pakistan’s mercury is high on no ball
In the last over of the Indian innings, India had to score 13 runs in 3 balls. Mohammad Nawaz, who was bowling the ball, bowled the fourth ball of the over, on which Virat Kohli hit a six, but after hitting a six, he demanded a no ball from the square leg umpire. Erasmus, standing at square leg, gave him a no ball without asking the third umpire, seeing the height of the ball. And, this is where Pakistan’s equation got spoiled.
Now India were left to score 6 runs in 3 balls, which they easily achieved. But, Pakistan started boiling on this one no ball. Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis were raising questions, now Shahid Afridi has also said that the umpire does not have the eye of the eagle. If he wanted, he could have taken the help of the third umpire.
The umpire has no eye on the eagle: Afridi
Shahid Afridi took a jibe at Sama TV’s show Umpire Erasmus and said, “Ever since the third umpire has come there have been a lot of run outs where the on-field umpires just signal towards him. That was a crucial moment in the Indo-Pak match, where if the third umpire was referred, he would have told you whether the ball was a no ball or not. But, you immediately signaled a no ball. The field umpire does not see so much of an eagle.
Neither the country’s team won the match, nor did the son-in-law walk
In this fury of Shahid Afridi, his pain can be understood. Actually, he was not only annoyed by the defeat of Pakistan at the hands of India. Rather, he was also hurt by the beating of his future son-in-law Shaheen Afridi in this match. He didn’t even get a wicket from above. So in such a situation, Shahid Afridi’s raging on that no-ball issue is right.
