Ahmedabad: Shubman Gill, the young batsman of Gujarat Titans, scored the first century of his IPL career on Monday. He scored this century against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Gill has been playing IPL continuously since 2018 but his century came in IPL-2023. Gill scored this century at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Gill has a special attachment to this stadium. Gill has so far scored eight centuries in his IPL and international career, out of which three centuries have come in this stadium.
In this stadium, Gill missed out on scoring a century a few days ago. On May 7, Gill scored 94 against Lucknow Super Giants but could not score a century due to the end of the innings. On Monday, he did this against Hyderabad.

Centuries in Test, T20 and IPL
Gill scored the second century of his Test career at this Narendra Modi Stadium. He scored this century in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in March this year. Gill had played an innings of 128 runs. Gill scored his first T20 century in this stadium. He scored this century against New Zealand on February 1. In this match, Gill scored an unbeaten 126 off 63 balls.
After this, Gill scored the first century of his IPL career on the same ground on 15 May. Gill scored 101 runs in 58 balls with the help of 13 fours and a six in this match. This is also the first IPL century scored by any batsman from Gujarat. That is, in four months, Gill has scored three centuries at this stadium.

Century partnership with Sudarshan
Gujarat had lost the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha in the very first over in this match. But after this Gill took the lead and along with Sai Sudarshan pulled the team out of a bad situation. Both of them shared a 147-run partnership for the second wicket. Sudarshan was dismissed after scoring 47 runs. As long as both of them were playing, it seemed that Gujarat would cross 200 runs but Hyderabad came back in the last over and stopped Gujarat for 188 runs after losing nine wickets.
