Ahmedabad: When the defending champions Gujarat Titans came up against Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home Narendra Modi Stadium, this team rained runs. Shubman Gill continued his form, but the way Sai Sudarshan supported him, he strengthened Gujarat and laid the foundation for his big score. Sudarshan played an excellent inning in this match but he missed the half-century by three runs.
Sudarshan was moving towards his half-century but Marco Janson did not allow him to complete the half-century by getting caught by T Natarajan on the first ball of the 15th over. If he had scored 50 runs, it would have been his third half-century of this season. This is his sixth match this season and so far he has scored half-centuries twice.

Got a chance after seven matches
Sudarshan has been with Gujarat since last season. But this season he got more chances. He played his first match this season against Chennai Super Kings. The season started with this match. Before this match, he played a match against Rajasthan Royals on 16 April but after that he left the team. Meanwhile Gujarat played seven matches but Sudarshan was not in the team.
After seven matches, on May 15, almost a month later, he was selected in the playing-11 and this batsman told that he is not the type of player to be put on the bench. Sudarshan shared a 147-run partnership with Gill in this match. This partnership came when Gujarat had already lost the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha in the first over.
