Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. This senior trio of Team India will not play in the series of 3 T20 matches to be held next year. This series will be played against Sri Lanka in January. Although the team has not been selected for this series yet. But, according to BCCI sources, these three players will be rested from the team selected for the series against Sri Lanka. In conversation with InsideSport, sources also claimed that Hardik Pandya will be seen handling the reins of captaincy in that T20 series.
Rohit, Virat will be rested from the series of 3 T20 matches to be held in January next year against Sri Lanka. While vice-captain KL Rahul will stay away from this series due to marriage. Apart from these, Dinesh Karthik, R. Senior players like Ashwin, Mohammed Shami also cannot be seen playing in this series.
Rohit, preparing to look beyond Virat
Quoting a top BCCI official, InsideSport wrote, “A new selection committee is to be formed in December. They will take the final call on how the Indian team for the Sri Lanka series will be? But it is certain that now we will be seen rising above some names. Rohit, Virat have already been told about this. He is also with BCCI in this matter.
