Dharamshala: The hopes of reaching the IPL 2023 title for Delhi Capitals have already been shattered. With 8 defeats in 12 matches, the team led by David Warner is at the bottom of the points table. Now Delhi is playing only for its honour. Punjab Kings In one such match against Delhi, Delhi has given Prithvi Shaw a chance to return after being kept out for several matches.
There were some changes in the Delhi Capitals team for the match against Punjab Kings in Dharamshala. The most important name in this was Prithvi Shaw, who was included in the playing eleven in place of experienced batsman Manish Pandey. Manish Pandey failed continuously in the last few matches and failed to win Delhi.
Out for 6 matches, now back
The beginning of this season was very bad for Prithvi Shaw. Delhi included him in the playing eleven in the first 6 matches but his bat remained silent. In these 6 innings, he could score only 47 runs while 2 times he could not even open the account. In such a situation, he was dropped from the playing eleven.
In place of Shaw, Phil Salt was again dropped for the opening and he played some good innings and contributed to victory in some matches for Delhi.

Why take a chance despite failure?
There are two important reasons for this. One is that Mitchell Marsh is injured and is not playing in this match. In such a situation, Delhi’s batting becomes more weak. Second, the failure of experienced batsman Manish Pandey. Pandey scored only 160 runs in 9 innings and in that too his strike rate was only 109. Obviously Delhi’s batting strength has become more weak. In such a situation, despite the poor form, only Shaw is available with Delhi as a better option.
