The schedule of the World Cup 2023 has been released. But Pakistan is yet to confirm its participation in the mega tournament in India.
The ICC World Cup 2023 schedule may have arrived, but Pakistan Cricket Team is yet to confirm its participation in the mega tournament in India. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and ICC (ICC) and BCCI (BCCI) regarding the venue of the big match between India vs Pakistan (IND vs PAK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, along with the rejection of the swap of the venue is angry with PCB has sought guidance from the Government of Pakistan on the tour of India. As per the Pakistan World Cup schedule, Babar Azam & Co. will begin their campaign against Qualifier 1 (from the CWC Qualifiers) on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
A PCB spokesperson told GeoTV, “The PCB requires the approval of the Government of Pakistan for any tour of India, including match venues. This position is in line with what we conveyed to the ICC a few weeks back when they shared the draft schedule with us and sought our feedback. ,
Pakistan will travel to India only when the government gives permission. At the moment, Pakistan is not happy with the BCCI forcing the Asia Cup 2023 to be partially held outside the country. Pakistan will host only four matches while Sri Lanka will host the cash-cow IND vs PAK Asia Cup tie as well as the mega continental final.
The PCB is now awaiting guidance from the Government of Pakistan and will inform the ICC as soon as they hear from them. However, it is to be noted that the BCCI is already planning to object to Pakistan’s hosting rights for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The message is clear: India will not tour Pakistan for any cricket event.
