History was created on the evening of 7 November at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. A miracle was seen which blew everyone’s senses. Australia’s star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell played the most amazing and best innings in the history of ODI cricket and led the team to victory. The pain with which Maxwell played this inning made it even more special. Now Sachin Tendulkar has told that the reason why Maxwell was in pain was also the reason why he helped him.
Five-time world champion Australia, which was on the verge of suffering a major upset in the World Cup 2023, won by 3 wickets. Australia, which once lost 7 wickets for just 91 runs against Afghanistan, again converted the defeat into victory on the basis of Maxwell’s explosive inning of 201 runs. However, during this innings, Maxwell had to suffer a lot of pain in his legs and back, due to which he was not able to run for runs.
‘Many similarities between life and cricket’
Maxwell had to take medical treatment several times during this innings and then he gave the team a memorable victory with just fours and sixes. Now the great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar has told in a post how cramps helped Maxwell and how he played such an excellent innings. Sachin shared a post on ‘X’ (Twitter) and wrote that there are many similarities between cricket and life because like spring, sometimes the thing that pulls you back, helps you move forward.
Life and cricket have many parallels. Sometimes, like a spring, what pulls you back is also what propels you forward.
During yesterday’s game, @Gmaxi_32s cramps constrained his footwork. He had to stay put at the crease, but that enabled him to have a steady head, watch the pic.twitter.com/8ZEp6m6gC8

This is how Maxwell got help
After this, Sachin talked about the technical aspect of Maxwell’s innings and told that due to cramps, Maxwell’s footwork was limited and due to this he had to stand inside the crease. Describing its advantage, Sachin said that due to limited footwork, it helped Maxwell to keep his head steady, due to which he was able to see the ball better and then his hand-eye coordination i.e. reaction was strong. Sachin saved that along with all this, Maxwell’s excellent bat-speed helped him to play such innings despite the pain.
