forced to undergo surgery
Jameson suffered a back injury in the series against England in June last year. After this injury, he returned after almost six months and played three T20s, two List-A matches for Auckland. He was about to return to international cricket from the series against England in February this year but his back injury resurfaced and hence he could not make a comeback. Team coach Gary Stead had said that Jameson needed surgery which he would undergo.

Kyle Jamieson bowling with the tricks of a 6’8″ Andre Adams in that 54th over of Otago’s innings yesterday. A big hooping inswinger, outswinger luring Rippon’s hands out into following it, inswinger, inswinger. pic.twitter.com/mApgIEJVXT

Kyle Jamieson with his Swing, seam, bounce & control was absolutely terrific as he picked up his fifth 5- wicket haul in just his 8th Test Match. India would have liked 60-70 more but have a quality bowling attack to make a match of it. Wishing the bowlers good luck. #WTCFinal21 pic.twitter.com/ZGsTgYKvqY
