The National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) has issued a notice to wrestler Vinesh Phogat. The notice has been issued to the two-time World Championship medalist for non-receipt at his whereabouts. Vinesh is going to make a comeback in the Budapest Ranking Series starting on Thursday. According to a report in The Tribune, the Dope Control Officer of NADA visited his Sonipat address. Vinesh was not present when the officer reached the spot, nor did she answer the phone call. This notice issued after this can also create trouble for Vinesh.

According to reports, when the Dope Control Officer (DCO) reached Vinesh’s residence in Pratap Colony, Sonipat, she was not present there. The DCO has told in the report that he tried to reach Vinesh for the whole 40 minutes and also called her husband Somveer Rathi. But neither there was any response from her husband nor Vinesh received the call. NADA project officer Ankush Gupta has asked Vinesh to answer for violating this rule.
Know what are these rules
This rule is included in the Athletes Registered Testing Pool ie RTP. Vinesh is a part of this RTP since December 2022. Wrestlers included in the RTP are required to use the Anti-Doping Administration Management System (ADAMS) to update their whereabouts every three months. In which wrestlers have to update their address, email, phone number, work schedule, training venue and schedule. This has happened for the first time in Vinesh’s entire year. Therefore, it will not be considered an anti-doping rule violation. But Vinesh will have to reply to the notice within the next 14 days.
