Today is a memorable day for MS Dhoni, one of the most successful captains of the Indian Cricket Team. Today he played his last international cricket match (MS Dhoni Last Match Date). This match can never be forgotten by any fan of cricket, Indian fans were heartbroken in this match. Dhoni was angry with himself, shouting and every Indian watching on TV or mobile along with the people sitting in the stadium had tears in their eyes. Team India was out of the ODI World Cup.
As the Indian cricket team reached the semi-finals of the 2019 ODI World Cup, fans were hopeful that India would once again win the World Cup under Dhoni’s captaincy. This match started on 9th July but ended on the reserve day i.e. on 10th July. Chasing 240, India got off to a very poor start. KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got out after scoring 1-1 runs. Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant handled the team by playing innings of 32-32 runs. India were in trouble but as long as MS Dhoni was at the crease everyone was expecting a win.

Dhoni had started hitting good shots. But Martin Guptill’s direct throw on the third ball of the 48th over, which sent Dhoni to the pavilion. The umpires were also surprised to see that throw, Guptill hit the ball straight on the wicket from the boundary line. MS Dhoni’s eyes were moist while going out of the ground after getting out, he was shouting probably angry with himself. But the fans did not even know that this is the last walk of Dhoni going out of the field. India was out of the World Cup, all the fans were heartbroken. The stadium was completely silent, the fans watching on TV were also emotional. Dhoni never played an international match after this. Dhoni scored 50 runs in 72 balls in his last match.

Dhoni was not selected in any series after the semi-final exit in the World Cup. It was being speculated about Dhoni that he might retire but the fans were hopeful that he would definitely play the Farewell match. But after about 1 year in 2020, on August 15, Dhoni announced his retirement through a post. Dhoni retired from all three formats of cricket and now he plays only IPL.
