Chennai: Chennai Super Kings have made it to the finals of IPL-2023. This is the 10th time when Chennai will play the title match. A big and important reason for the success of Chennai is its captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni is called a very cunning captain. He traps the batsmen in his net. Dhoni’s mind is very sharp and that is why he is counted among the great captains of the world. Dhoni’s excellent captaincy was also seen against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier-1.

Chasing 173 runs, Gujarat lost its first wicket in the form of Wriddhiman Saha on the last ball of the third over. Hardik Pandya came after him. Here Dhoni played with Pandya’s mind. Pandya was dismissed on the fifth ball of the sixth over. Ravindra Jadeja caught his catch on the ball of Mahish Teekshana.
Jadeja caught his catch at point. Before Pandya’s dismissal, Dhoni had changed the fielding. He removed the fielder from square leg and placed it near the covers. Dhoni did this because Pandya was trying to hit the top of the circle on the off stump. As soon as Dhoni put another fielder on the off side, Pandya got out on the next ball. Pandya was first thinking of hitting over the curve but seeing the fielder there, he thought of playing the ball over the point and got stuck here.

good use of bowlers
This victory of Chennai is special because it has defended 173 runs in front of a team that has the ability to achieve a target of more than 200 runs and all this has happened because the Chennai bowlers did their job well. Dhoni used him at the right time which gave him success.
Ravindra Jadeja shocked Gujarat by taking the wickets of David Miller and Dasun Shanaka at crucial times. Mathisa Patirana bowled brilliantly in the last over and took the wicket of Vijay Shankar. Apart from Pandya, Teekshana dismissed finishers like Rahul Tewatia. Tushar Deshpande took only one wicket but this wicket of his had confirmed the victory of Chennai because this wicket was of Rashid Khan.
