The Indian cricket team has shown its dominance in Test cricket in the last few years. On its own soil, Team India has been a difficult challenge for the opposing teams for the last several years, but even on foreign soil, there has been some improvement in the performance of Team India. Out of these, Team India has won some such matches which were difficult to even think about. In this too, Team India won 2 matches on the same date and both those victories were very special because both times Team India had broken the pride of Australia. The date is- 19th January.
Team India will again go on Australia tour at the end of this year, where a series of 5 test matches will be played between the two teams. Team India will again enter this series with the intention of registering a win and scoring a hat-trick. Earlier, on the previous Australian tour, Team India had registered a historic victory by overcoming all the challenges, claims and difficulties and the biggest day in it proved to be 19th January 2021.
First success in 2008
Everyone knows about what happened 3 years ago on January 19 and we will tell about it again later, but even before that, once on January 19, India had broken Australia’s pride. Team India had done this feat 13 years before the success of 2021. Team India had made this blast in 2008 and Perth’s WACA Cricket Stadium had become a witness. No one had expected Team India to win in this ground, which is known as the fastest cricket stadium in the world, but Team India did so under the captaincy of Anil Kumble.

Then Australia was bundled out for just 212 runs. RP Singh wreaked havoc with his swing and took 4 wickets. Then in the second innings, Team India scored 294 runs and this time VVS Laxman scored 79 runs. Irfan Pathan also scored 46 runs. Australia got the target of 413 runs but Irfan Pathan (3 wickets) and RP Singh (2 wickets) restricted Australia to 340 runs and gave the team victory by 72 runs. In this way, Team India defeated Australia for the first time in Perth.
‘Gaba’s pride broken’
Then on 19 January 2021, Team India again taught Australia a lesson. This time, Team India had landed at the Gabba ground in Brisbane without stalwarts like captain Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Australia batted first and scored 369 runs. T Natarajan and Washington Sundar, who were debuting for India, took 3 wickets each and Shardul Thakur also took 3 wickets. Then Sundar (62) and Shardul (67) made a partnership of 123 runs and took Team India to 336 runs.
In the second innings, Mohammed Siraj took 5 wickets and Shardul took 4 wickets, reducing Australia to 294 runs. Then Team India got the target of 328 runs. Such a big score was not chased on the Brisbane ground but Shubman Gill (91), Cheteshwar Pujara (56) and Rishabh Pant (89 not out) had different intentions. Gill laid the foundation of the run chase with aggressive batting and then Rishabh Pant put the finishing touch with his unbeaten inning of 89 runs. In this way, not only did Team India register its first win on this ground, but Australia also lost at Gabba after 32 years. India also won the second consecutive Test series.
