New Delhi. Both Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer are out of the cricket field due to injury. Bumrah has been struggling with back problems for the last several months. Due to injury, he could neither play T20 World Cup last year nor is he a part of IPL 2023. Shreyas Iyer is also struggling with back injury and due to this he was also ruled out of IPL 2023.
Bumrah and Iyer’s injury increased everyone’s tension because India has to host the World Cup this year. In such a situation, the injury of two big players increased the headache. Now BCCI has given a big update on the injury of both. The BCCI tweeted on Saturday that fast bowler Bumrah underwent lower back surgery in New Zealand.

Bumrah’s rehab begins
Bumrah’s surgery was successful. He is no longer in pain. He was advised to start rehab after 6 weeks of surgery. According to the BCCI, Bumrah has also started working on his rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer will have lower back surgery next week. He will be under the supervision of the surgeon for 2 weeks and after that he will go to NCA for rehab.

injury during the series
Talking about Shreyas Iyer’s injury, he was injured during the 4 Test series against Australia. For this reason, he could not play the last match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and was also ruled out of the ODI series. Iyer was troubled by this injury earlier also.
