New Delhi: First Yashasvi Jaiswal scored an explosive century. Now another uncapped batsman brightened up IPL 2023 with a century. Punjab Kings’ young opener Prabhasimran scored his first century in IPL while batting tremendously against Delhi Capitals. Out of 167 runs of Punjab, 103 runs were scored by Prabhsimran alone. But this is not the first time that Prabhasimran has played a big inning alone for his team.
22-year-old Prabhsimran Singh has been a part of Punjab Kings in IPL since 2019 but he has got maximum opportunities in this season. At the beginning of the season, he had scored 60 runs in just 34 balls. After this, however, he could not get big innings with the bat. After all, he showed this amazing against Delhi and scored 103 runs in just 65 balls.
Hitting 298 runs created buzz
Although Prabhsimran is only 22 years old, but at this age he has a habit of playing big and explosive innings. In domestic cricket also, Prabhasimran, who plays for Punjab, has been playing big innings since the junior level. In 2018, Prabhsimran hit 298 runs in just 303 balls in the under-23 tournament.

Started from 0, then rained runs
However, Prabhsimran’s start in T20 was not good. He was dismissed for 0 in his debut match against Madhya Pradesh, but since this debut, he kept scoring runs continuously. In 2021, he played a stormy inning of 119 runs in just 61 balls against Goa in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This was his first century in T20.
Just a few months ago, again Prabhasimran presented the view of Atishi batting. In the DY Patil T20 tournament played in Mumbai, he played an amazing inning of 161 runs in just 55 balls. In this innings, 17 sixes and 9 fours came out of his bat. Prabhasimran hit 29 sixes in only 3 matches of that tournament.
Started with high amount
Now finally got to see his amazing performance in IPL as well. Punjab Kings surprised by buying it for the first time in 2019 for Rs 4.80 crore. In the beginning, he got few opportunities and he was not successful in those too. Then he had to be released before the 2022 season due to the mega auction. Punjab again bought Prabhsimran in the mega auction but this time he got only Rs 60 lakh. Despite this, now in IPL 2023, Prabhasimran has shown that he can be played high.
