Indian bowlers have probably caught someone’s eye, due to which 5 players got injured one after the other and all the fast bowlers were also out of the team. The reason for the injury of 5 Indian players was poor planning and for this reason the Delhi team entered the Ranji Trophy match against Tamil Nadu without their 5 important bowlers.
Injuries include Ishant Sharma, Navdeep Saini, Mayank Yadav, Simarjit Singh, while last season’s captain Pradeep Sagwan was also ruled out before the start of the current season. The team’s experienced fast bowler Ishant is battling a side strain.
Injured Delhi fast bowler
On the other hand, Navdeep Saini, who was part of the Indian team on the Bangladesh tour, is away from the field due to abdominal strain. He is currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Apart from Ishant and Navdeep, Mayank Yadav, who made his first-class debut earlier this month, is suffering from a hamstring injury. Simarjit Singh, the highest wicket-taker for Delhi this season, is battling an ankle injury.
Delhi team landed with inexperienced
In the absence of experienced fast bowlers, the Delhi team had to field against Tamil Nadu with inexperienced bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana and Pranshu had made their debut some time ago. Nitish Rana is also not a part of this team.
Bad planning is the reason
Bad planning was the main reason behind the bowlers’ injury. A DDCA official said that you had not organized any camp before the start of the season. There was no proper training season and the fast bowlers also came with half-baked preparations. He further said that no plan was made. Nor was there any vision and whatever has happened now has happened exactly where it would have happened without the system. He said that some of our fast bowlers were unfit before the season.
Bad condition in the tournament
Talking about Delhi’s campaign in this season of Ranji Trophy, the beginning was very embarrassing. Delhi lost their first match to Maharashtra and then played a draw with Assam. Delhi’s team is in 7th place among 8 teams in Group B.
